Interesting Article in Todays Irish Times

Men want to play bigger role in their children's lives

It brings back the whole paternity leave argument and the fact that although Ireland has pretty good maternity leave it has no statutory paternity leave.

Vat difference

Currently I am slightly bitter about the difference between Irish and UK prices for baby stuff.
The UK is a lot cheaper but what I didn't know is that we both have Vat rates applying to some nursery items then the standard 21% here and 17.5% in the UK(I think it is 17.5% there)

So it sort of explains some of the price discrepancies.
